Über diesen Titel
The world teeters on the brink of destruction.
The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned.
The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face.
Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Glad this ark is over
(This is more of review of the earth ark Book 4-6)
To be honest i could have gone with less points for the story but i did not since it still manages to hook me into it and keeps me listening for hours on end.
This is going to be a long one so i have to structure it a bit.
1. Overall Feeling:
Why could i still give less points? Simply put the whole earth ark feels way to removed from the rest of the story and i feel like the author knows it. At the first books it seemed like his family would be glad to join him to establishe some kind of Asano clan in the other world aswell only to be alienated by jason in the last book.
To be honest this all feels rushed, the whole 6th book feels like a clusterfuck of circumstances which lead to jason wantonly killing people that to be fair earned it, but it feels like the whole last chapters makes him feel heartless and the fourth and fifth book kinda pointless when it comes to his growth. Heck he even took some time away from everything to get his grips and not wantonly kill on first intention and now hes handing people over willingly to be tortured for revenge? I get it he's changing but why make him change that drastically in such a short time?
2. Characters:
Overall i really like the characters introduced with the ark but some of them feel like throwaway puppets for honestly no gains at all. His whole family seems like a non factor in the last book just some side notes here and there. Also suddenly everyone is so alienated by Jason it's laugheable he killed before, he changed before why now all of a sudden? I guess the Author needed a excuse to not bring his family into the other world after all since that would bring serious problems with it, if also it would be really interesting how his family would have adepted to it.
Another point why waste so much time in other books on seemingly useless characters. For example the doctor from the second book never even gets mentioned later on and she had a lot of impact in the fifth book.
All in all the characters feel forgetable, i still remember all teammates and even the bad guys from the first 3 books but this one i think only Gerling and Mr. North will be memorable for me. The rest of the side characters also get mostly lengthy introductions but like i said don't matter at all. I think the only characters going to matter going forward are Dawn and maybe Shaco.
3. Litrpg?:
Oh boy this was the biggest letdown for me, the progression. It all felt really rushed in the first few books and later on it crawled to a stop, Jason literally was saying it's going to take him decades to reach gold. There was one time in the whole sixth book where his progress was voiced out for the reader and it felt like "Hey it's going to be slow now don't expect much". I am fine with less progress since some of the first books tended to be excessive on that end, but this feels like no progress at all. Another point are his skills, he is useing them yes but it feels like they get less and less important as fights turn more and more into the background. Most fights now are either "He is gold rank, jason loaded him up with afflictions until he dropped" or "Jason is overpowering the opponent with his aura". There is nothing in between either he is severely outmatched or outmatches his opponent.
This is starting to feel more like a regular fantasy story with some light gamelit elements attached to it. Also i miss the extensive explanations of powers those were interesting and seeing where those characters would take them were always enjoyable.
4. Kinda Redcon:
There were some points during the story were i had to think this is kind of strange in a sense. Fara telling him at the end of book 6 that he is not going to be anything special in the other world even at his rank. This makes in my opinion no sense at all. First of all the reaper trial, those were the most promising adventurers from all around the world taking part in Amirs challenge Jason outwitted them and won that damn thing. He is fighting on par with the elite of his class so to speak. And that was before his endaevour with the Builder. Which leads me to the next point, he freaking defied not a god but something more then a god his aura is stronger than even most of the ones ranked above him. Him being only slightly above average for his rank is kinda strange in my eyes regarding he was likely in the top 5% in iron rank.
Also remind me why are guilds popping up just now? I mean those would surely have come up beforehand.
All in all this feels like Travis Deverell lost some grip on the story and has to make rush and harsh decisions to keep it on track.
Conclusion:
All in all i still love this series and i would recommend it to everyone not just fans of litrpg or fantasy. It's still well written and the jokes are elaborate and fun. But like the title is suggesting i am glad this ark is over. It took away a lot of the charm the first 3 books had and threw Jason into a role neither we as reader nor he as protagonist wanted him to have. I hope with the next ark Travis is going to return to the more measured pace since i loved it since i first listened to the first book.

Great performer, mediocre story
The Performer is just awesome. I could listen to him read a dictionary.
Unfortunately the story lacked a lot of elements that i liked in the earlier books i.e. : meaningful progress of the main character (other than his state of mind), or the advantourous feeling conveyed in the first books. Not even the monsters are real monsters anymore.
But if you listend so far, you will still listen to the next book. For anyone new to the series i recommend the first three books.
[Sorry for my english]

Drags on
I loved the first installment of the earth-based story in this series and thoroughly enjoyed the second, despite its shortcomings. This one fell into two of the most common LitRPG traps I've seen. For a not insignificant portion of the book, it gives up its biggest strength of witty character dialogue and the sharp contrast between edgy Jason and smug Jason. It instead puts Jason into a situation where he's practically all alone for weeks on end, turning the book into a series of description of pop culture reference-heavy adversaries and how Jason struggles against them. It has its merit, but it's not what I'm enjoying this series for.
The second trap is to seal some of Jason's power. It's the same situation too, so the focus usually lies on how he slowly unseals his powers to survive. Very dry. The middle section of the book is the strong suit, when Jason isn't in the aforementioned situation.
Overall, I still enjoyed it and I'm thoroughly looking forward to what is to come in future installments, but this one was a bit weak.

Tolle Fortsetzung!
Tolle Arbeit! Tolles Buch! Toller Sprecher! Wir hören uns in Band 7.
