Interesting character development without the „normal“ power creep in other stories. Main character behaves relateable and story is always interesting to listen to. Onward to book 3

I just started some days ago with the first one, going onto the second one and alrealdy bought the third one
It feels like a mix of watching someone play an awesome game and watching an immersive movie
Maybe I'm just a very emotional person but these 2 books made me cry and laugh several times :D

The writing and the reader are excellent, but there is one major flaw that I find it rather hard to forgive: Where the first book ended with a few loose ends (which is quite acceptable) this one ends on a deliberate cliffhanger - If you want to know the ending you need to buy the next book. And this seriously annoys me; this book, this story is incomplete. I'll buy the next book because the story is very good so far, but if that tries the cliffhanger again the series will end with book 3 for me.

The character Jason Asano is one of the funniest and deepest I have heard of. Many readers dislike him, but I think this is only because he is not perfect like other main characters from similar storys. He has it flaws and try to better it only to fall onto the same bad habits again which make him very human. He also is very unpredictable which makes him an interesting protagonist.

A cool cast of diverse characters, no sexism and well thought through developments.
