Dirty deals are never done dirt cheap. And the supernatural always collect - big!

It mixes the basic elements of Quantum Leap (each episode a new body) with the typical Monster of the Week TV shows: (what is the monster, what does it do and why and how can it be defeated?) with lots of character development, personal drama and more than one philosophical question.
Readers of the Dresden files will feel right at home and smile over the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) nods to Jim Butcher's work.
My only nitpick is the usual problem with mystery novels: if the author plays fair and gives the reader all the relevant information, most of the time the reader will figure out part or all of the mystery before the protagonist. On the other hand, this is way better than not giving the reader the clues. And, over the last few books, the author managed to hide that information better in plain sight :)
Each book gets better, and the first book was already pretty strong.
If you like supernatural crime/mystery books, this one might be for you.
