The story:

I won't go into spoilers, but the ending of the book left me in tears, only Kinslayer from Warhammer Fantasy managed that before. When McNeill wrote about how grief, despite its pain, is a good thing because it reminds you how much you love someone, that hit me extremely hard considering my own experiences with love, death and grief. How ironic that a trilogy about the Mechanicus features some of the most heartwarming characters and their love for each other. Thank you Graham McNeill, I will treasure these books dearly in my datacores.
