    Inhaltsangabe

Ash Winters is barely holding on, near drowning in his own darkness and fear. He lives a gray shadow of a life, sullen and cynical, unable to remember hope or happiness - much less the distant, fading glitterball of love. It has to be a sick joke of the universe that he finds himself hooked up with good-humored Essex boy Darian Taylor, a wannabe model in a sparkly jacket and a fake tan. Darian may not be an intellectual giant, but he's hysterically funny, and he's got the courage to challenge Ash to live again.

Just being able to laugh is extraordinary enough to Ash. Loving may be a gift he can't bear to accept, even if his denial breaks the biggest heart he's ever known.

    One more book to love...

Wonderful narration by Nicholas Boulton. Not being native English I find it wonderful to hear the Essex dialect come to life! And the story itself- Alexis Hall is the master of stories!

    As funny as Boyfriend Material

This book is as funny as Boyfriend Material! Enjoyd it "proper". Loved the performance, especially the "Essex way of speaking" :))
The description how mental illness might feel was also quite accurate. Maybe except the part that Ash wears formalwear all the time. When someone barely gets out of bed will not bother with shirts and jackets, especially not at home!

The point is, from all A. Hall books this was the one that I found as funny as Boyfriend Material.
Loved all the popular culture references! So clever!! :D
