Über diesen Titel

This "succinct and eye-opening collection of recent interviews and essays [presents] sober and unflinching analysis" of Gaza's humanitarian crisis (Publishers Weekly).

While numerous books address Israel-Palestine conflict, Gaza in Crisis brings together two renowned thinkers—American activist Noam Chomsky and Israeli historian Ilan Pappé—to examine why this conflict has lasted so long, who can stop it, and how. Israel's Operation Cast Lead, a 2008 military assault on the Gaza Strip, thrust the region to the center of the discussion. With expert knowledge and deep insight, Chomsky and Pappé survey the fallout from Israel's conduct in Gaza and place it in historical context.

This revised and expanded edition includes a new essay by Pappé called "The Ten Mythologies of Israel," originally written for the New York session of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine. Also included is Chomsky's incisive essay "'Exterminate All the Brutes': Gaza 2009" and a dialogue between the two writers on "The Ghettoization of Palestine."

It’s hard to give 5 stars to such a horrible topic but this book is such an important documentation of Israel’s crimes. Audio-reading this book 16 years after it was written and realizing it could have been written today and perfectly match as a narration of the events ocurred after October 7th 2023 is so demoralizing. It’s outrageous how this book evidences how Israel repeats its atrocities against Palestine almost cyclically and the rest of the world just looks away and lets things happen.
This book left me with a feeling of complete helplessness and powerlessness like no other before but also made me feel released from propaganda, it took the blindfold completely off and for good.
But on the other side it’s such a tragedy, that the co-autor Chomsky turned out to be deeply involved with Epstein. Because the morality of the co-autor being so bad will definitely demerit the book and steal the focus from the main subject: the atrocities against Palestine.

This book is an eyes opener to the truth.
