Morgan Mars is doing everything he can to protect humanity from alien invasion.

But even his new organization, The First Line of Defence, isn’t enough to save what’s already lost. Sectors are collapsing like dominoes as the aftermath of the 20th Cycle invasion leaves everyone trapped in the falling Sectors. No one knows what to do. No one, that is, except Nicholas Thistlebush. He has a plan to save Sector 6. The only question is, what will it cost him?

I really liked it. The content was a bit of a suprise, but gooood.

I hope the next book is coming out soon.

Awesome!

MC from book 1 takes a backseat for this one, hope this continues for the next book as well. the added perspective was very well made.

Unexpected change, but loved every moment of it.

This is definitely a different type of book than part one. While part one was for the most part just wild litRPG, this now takes more after his other works with a lot of existential questions and more relationship/world building focus. It still has wildly funny moments but also digs a bit deeper. I like the way he's going with this and look forward to the next book.

Wildly Wholesome

This book doesn't hold what the first one promised to many narrator switches no continuation of the first books storyline a new main character that wallows in self pittuly and non of the light hearted witty and funny writing that I'm kina expecting from a benjamin Kerei book

Self pity and no tower defence

While Book 1 offered an interesting approach—a hard-to-believe but fun story—Book 2 feels ridiculous by comparison. The core concept remains enjoyable, but the execution is akin to starting a LitRPG from Level 1 to 20 in a single page. This progression robs the Main Character's achievements in the first book of all their glory and credibility. Even granting that "credibility" is a stretch in fantasy literature.

But the path this story is setting up for future books feels off. It leans into this hubristic idea that human ingenuity can just waltz over thousands of years of experience from other races. Even though many people suffer, they still manage to outshine eons-old veterans in what is basically the opening ceremony. This does not match up to the picture the author was painting, with the human part simply being disproportionate and incredible.

The narration switches between the two voices, which worked reasonably well for me.

Disproportionate storyline
