They told David it was impossible - that even the Reckoners had never killed a High Epic. Yet, Steelheart - invincible, immortal, unconquerable - is dead. And he died by David's hand.

Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life more simple. Instead, it only made David realize he has questions. Big ones. And there's no one in Newcago who can give him the answers he needs.

Babylon Restored, the old borough of Manhattan, has possibilities, though. Ruled by the mysterious High Epic, Regalia, David is sure Babylon Restored will lead him to what he needs to find. And while entering another city oppressed by a High Epic despot is a gamble, David's willing to risk it. Because killing Steelheart left a hole in David's heart. A hole where his thirst for vengeance once lived. Somehow, he filled that hole with another Epic - Firefight. And he's willing to go on a quest darker, and more dangerous even, than the fight against Steelheart to find her, and to get his answers.©2015 Dragonsteel Entertainment LLC Epic Fantasy Fantasy Fantasy Romance

Kritikerröster

another brisk YA fantasy from Sanderson - inventive, action-stuffed and surprising until the end
Steelheart is the literature equivalent of a blockbuster; episodic and fast-paced with surprises around every turn.
Full of action
as always, Brandon Sanderson creates a unique and interesting universe we get to explore alongside the protagonist...a fun, action packed ride for those of us who remain a child at heart.
The world of The Reckoners is suddenly presented in all its glory. It's an incredibly vibrant setting that showcases the entire breadth of Sanderson's talent. Expect to finish this one in single sitting.
The stories are complex, fascinating, and filled to the brim with three-dimensional characters
Firefight is a visual, almost cinematic novel
Firefight is a rollercoaster ride of action, entertainment, and humour
Firefight is filled with a spine-tingling adventure and heart-racing action that promises to satisfy fans both new and old
Firefight is an absolute blast of a book and a definite recommendation whether you're a Brandon Sanderson fan, or have never read any of his work (although in that case make sure you read Steelheart first!)

Ich mochte den flexiblen Sprecher. Die Story ist fesselnd inspiriert hin und wieder zum Nachdenken.
Gute Metaphern. Teil drei erwartet.

Unterhaltung mit gutem Ton

Hugely enjoyed this second part! More interesting (female) characters and actual character development from David. Less of a one man show too. Looking forward to part tree :) Andrews voice acting was spot on as always!

Better than the first one

I recently got into Brandon Sanderson books and none have disappointed me so far. By the end of Steelheart, I thought he's created a magnificent world in which he can keep churning out books with epics having different peculiarities. But, of course, he goes much further with this sequel. A new city and team are introduced, many mysteries of the epics are unraveled, and the Reckoners saga progresses with an incredible payoff at the end. As always, it's a very clever twist that was hard to predict even though the journey was littered with foreshadowing.

A worthy sequel with new revelations
