It starts slow a bit, not immediately understood what will happen even if by reading whole Icehome series I could guess what will happen. Nice concept of what people would actually think if anyone could any moment read/smell their emotions and deep desires, would it be so far from lying to other and first of all to yourself.

A lot of food for thoughts

I got this audio book in late January and still haven't finished it (it's now middle of march).
First of I personally don't like post apocalyptic plots, which maybe was my fault but I wasn't aware before the purchase that that's the setting. For people who like those stories it's probably quite appealing.
Secondly I think the characters play a lot into the traditionally established gender roles - he's the protective provider and she is fragile and gentle ... makes sense with him being a dragon but personally I'm over this dynamic.
Thirdly, and this only applies to the audiobook, I can not take the male narrator seriously. The way he talks seems very unnatural and forced. I wish that a snippet of his voice would have been in the sample.

I liked the story, I'm looking forward to the following books. Also the narrators were doing a great job. Claudia is a tough woman and I appreciated that Noelle Bridges underlines that with her kind of reading. She doesn't do it whiningly like some other female narrators.

I was super eager to listen to this one. Unfortunately it’s lacking depth to the story.
Also the “darkness, hunger, frenzy, rage” parts were pretty awkward to listen to :/
Even though there still might be potential for more background to the story I’m not gonna listen to another book of this series.
