This book is so heartbreaking and so heartwarming I love this book until the ends of time

Unfortunately, this conclusion didn't hold up and was disappointing. So many characters (one in particular) were portrayed very dirty and empty. There was no good build up to justify the many plot twists and some were very incoherent with the previous storyline. The interaction between Kai and Paedyn was incredible as always and this book makes you love Kai even more for it. That's about the only thing that was really good here though. The rest of the story and characters were very neglected and left to fizzle out. So the ending wasn't as satisfying as it deserved to be. Despite trying to make someone look better again at the end, it didn't work and this character deserved so much better depth. At least there was a happy ending and a lot of love between our poets.

So what to say about this book... overall it really is beautifully written - however for my taste it was a bit too poetic and romantic, but nonetheless a good piece of writing.

it took me quite some time to get into the story of this last book. I started to listen to the audiobook and couldn't find into it, paused and restarted almost 1.5 months later again. Partially because of the slow start of the book, partially due to the narration (which couldn't do the story enough justice).
After two (or three) great previous books the story was a bit flat and repetitive. Paedyn had to venture into a new series of trials to prove herself...
After having mastered so many obstacles before together, the plot twist at the end of book 2 maneuvers Pae and Kai into forbidden lovers once again. With a lot of aching and yearning... and a lot of flowery romantic conversations. Every now and then I was a bit annoyed by it. This book series is a definite super slow burn closed door romance. Three books and there was no real passion between the pages (for my liking). So don't be too disappointed when you looking for an adult love story.

The plot itself got it goning for me with the beginning of the second trial. There were some interesting parts that I actually enjoyed.
Characters from previous books resurfaced too, but I didn't liked how they were dealed with... at some parts I was shocked.
The conclusion of this book wasn't so satisfying either... it felt a bit drawn out for my liking (could have been 5-10 chapters shorter)
and what was this epilogue supposed for?
so overall a nice closed door romance with a poetic touch. I'm sure many would enjoy it.

I listened to the Audiobook version and the narration couldn't give this story the right credit. A duet style or just a single reader would have probably been better (for my taste).

The best book in this series in my opinion. Not just one, but many plottwists. There were multiple chapters where my jaw dropped 😮. I loved it.
