I loved the story until approximately 2h before the end.
Stella's reaction on John's breakdown annoyed me so much I almost stopped it there and resented Stella for the rest of the book. Like, why not simply CALL SOMEONE like she was told to do beforehand, instead of taking everything personal what someone said during an obvious breakdown triggered by the news they received the day before and then drowning in self-pitty.

since most of the book was great, it still deserved its 4 stars.
