Inhaltsangabe

The world has fallen in love with Nick Gautier and the Dark-Hunters. Now Nick’s saga continues in the next eagerly anticipated volume....

Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That’s the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn’t the average teenager. He’s a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him. He’s learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive and keep a girlfriend so dang hard? But that isn’t the primary skill he has to master. Survival is. And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison.

He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known, or he’ll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight - or he’ll lose everyone he cares about. Even himself.

Only as audiobook - otherwise only two stars

This is the third book in the "Cronicles of Nick" and you probably need to listen to it if you want to continue the series. I honestly consider to wait with the next books a few years. Why?

Because it gets more and more confusing, Nick gets mobbed, nagged and beaten several times. He meets more supernatural beings and his mom is my new favorite "hate" person. Seriously? Nick would be much better of with her. I can't even expres how much her behaviour annoyed me. If not for the excelent narrator I wouldn't have finished it. I defintely have enough of all the suffering.

So one of the three stars is for the narrator, one is for the still funny dialogues and one is because I love the side characters and I still love Nick.

But I seriously consider to take a break at all SK books and wait a few years because - really - there had been a time when Archeron had been the most powerful being on this earth....oh, my, the good old times.
