Beschreibung von Audible

In this engaging evening recorded live at New York City's Symphony Space, acclaimed actress Jill Eikenberry performs a moving reading of Amy Bloom's novel Away, about a woman who sets out to walk from New York City to Russia in search of her daughter. Host Isaiah Sheffer also interviews Bloom about her research for the novel, her childhood among Yiddish opera stars, her previous life as a therapist, the nature of fact and fiction, and the possibilities of finding happiness even after grief.

Inhaltsangabe

In 1927, a Russian immigrant woman set off from New York City to walk home to Russia on foot. Amy Bloom tells how she took this kernel of historic fact and dreamed up a lush, epic, and yet wonderfully intimate novel.

Thalia Book Club Readers and writers meet for intimate conversations about compelling new books and favorite classics in fiction, essay, biography and more. Evenings include an actor performing an excerpt, an interview and a conversation with the audience. A book signing follows each event.

disappointment

Sorry but it is not what you hear in the preview. I am disappointed about the deceit. I would not recommand it.
Anm.d.Audible-Teams: We're sorry to hear. We checked both the book and the sample and they are in line. Samples always were cut from the beginning of an audiobook - in this instance the sample contains a snippet of Jill Eikenberry performing an excerpt of the discussed novel. Thereafter the audiobook goes on with an interview and a conversation with the audience. Best Regards, your Audible-Team
