    Inhaltsangabe

When Gunnar Long is transported into the first fully-immersive virtual MMORPG, he finds himself in a new world filled with magic, mystery, and adventure.

No more 9-to-5 job. No more studio apartment. No more reality TV.

Finally, he's in a place where he can call home, a place with people he can call friends.

But as more people want to trade their real world lives to get inside Eden's Gate, the government of the outside world wants the "game" shut down at all costs.

Gunnar must learn to survive, grow in power, and find a way to send a message back to his old home.

"We're fine. We're alive. Eden's Gate is real."

Eden's Gate is a LitRPG adventure.

Slow-witted heros make you mad? This'll rile u up!

The TL;DR is that the story is enjoyable and if you like litRPGs and are just looking for another fix, you'll get one here.

However, you will have to accept that the protagonist is dumber than bread. I think Mr. Brody derives pleasure from making us rage at the protagonist..
Anyway, having listened as far as book 4, I can say that refreshingly this isn't a one man show where the hero is absolutely overpowered and succeeds without end. Another refreshing difference is that women are not just plot devices in need of rescue, there are actually some badass girls in this story without whom the protagonist would've gotten his ass handed to him several times over. Sadly, the "fawning-over-the-hero" trope is in here too, although not overly present.

Someone mentioned that women would be reduced to being beautiful in this story. I'd like to contest that. I can understand why one would think that, since the story is being told through the eyes of the protagonist, who is written as your typical sexist gamer. However, one should not confuse a sexist telling of a story with a telling of a sexist story.. if that makes any sense to you.

All in all, Mr. Brody has written a story where the protagonist is a rather realistic portrayal of the average gamer: horny and not the sharpest tool in the shed. ;)
Would I have preferred a smarter hero who contemplated the philosophical questions posed by this scenario and could fathom the things happening around him? Of course I would. Will I still buy the remaining two books and listen to this story, raging at the idiot? Absolutely. It is entertaining after all.

    ok

meh. it's ok. There are better LitRPGs, there are worse ones. No new ideas, just classics minus real character development and reduction of females to Beauty & optics (even a high percentage of monsters have boobies), but to be fair, it's not excedingly sexual and described harmlessly.
    let's see how it continues.

    Worst narrator I've ever heard

The story is quite good. The character progression is a bit slow for my taste but I'm willing to give it another try. What straight out kills my interest is the narrator. Sometimes it sounds like cheap robot talk. By far the worst litrpg narrator I got to "enjoy" so far.

The MC is dumb like a bread

The Story is ok, but the MC is never ever a gamer. Simple mechanics seems to to new to him... in the introduction he says that hes a "pro gamer". He is acting like a newborn in every world... he should die in the real world like in the game world every day...
The world is interesting and the side chars seems to know what to do, so it is ok.

@MR Brody plz listen next time to somebody who you want to be a MC in your story. IF the MC has played nearly every mmorpg and moba, like you told us a the start... he would nerver act like he is doing in your book.
