Inhaltsangabe

The number-one international best seller - and the Grammy-award winner for best spoken album in 2006.

Before Barack Obama became a politician, he was, among other things, a writer. Dreams from My Father is a masterpiece: a refreshing, revealing portrait of a young man asking the big questions about identity and belonging.

The son of a black African father and a white American mother, Obama recounts an emotional odyssey. He retraces the migration of his mother's family from Kansas to Hawaii, then to his childhood home in Indonesia. Finally he travels to Kenya, where he confronts the bitter truth of his father's life and at last reconciles his divided inheritance.

What a man: Barack Obama! ❤️

Thank you for telling your family story. The world is grateful for men and women like you. Outstanding story, history, fantastic style, fantastic speaker/reader.
Only people with your beliefs, your charisma, your abilities should become leader of a nation. Unfortunately we now got the worst possible successor. Hopefully the damage is revocable.
Thank you again, Mr. PRESIDENT.

Good to understand Obama's early years.

I enjoyed the book. Obama is going through his early days in Hawaii, Jakarta amd Chicago and his ties to Kenia. I am sure many people can relate to such a childhood between the races.

Powerful!

A wonderful honest and informative
Insight into the questions that many of us no longer dare to address! Race discussions, these days, are something complicated and a lot of times best left undebated about.
It’s great to listen to the author taking on different narrative personas. Humorous at times but above all questions about family, our history and our own becoming. Well worth a “read”!!!

Wonderful book

This is an amazing story. The background of Obama’s family is very complicated and getting all the names and relationships sorted was somewhat confusing and I had to go back on this a few times. Also, much as I love his voice, he reads too fast. A bit more calm would have been better. But really worth reading/hearing!
I recommend it.

Eine schöne sehr interessante Geschichte

Die Geschichte ist wirklich interessant zu Hören, aber das Highlight des Hörbuches war einfach der Sprecher. Barack obama belebt wirklich den Text mit seiner Stimme.
