Ich finde die Story interessant, auch wenn sie mich stellenweise doch sehr arg an Harry Potter erinnert. Ganz großartig jedoch ist Roger Allam als Sprecher. Er hat eine unglaublich variable Stimme, die er hier extrem gekonnt einsetzt. Ein Genuss!

Children's books can obviously be quite as exciting as books written for adults, more so than some.
Just because it's about kids and magic doesn't mean it's like Harry Potter!
It has a lovely and novel magic system, the characters have depth but are not overly complex. Some plots can be a bit obvious for the seasoned Fantasy reader but keep in mind it is a children's book.
I highly recommend this book to all young (at heart) enough to be able to revell in suspence and magic.
