“Don’t...bleed for me.” (The Unknown)

Saying "don’t" around Jack Harrison always did lead him into dangerous grounds on London streets. But now someone knows Jack’s head inside and out, and they’re about to twist all perception and lead him into an underground depravity that nearly sent him down in his youth. As Jack slips further into a dark psychological minefield, only two men offer different paths back to sanity: Gray, a man who knows Jack’s every dark thought, and Jan, the first man to show Jack a “soft lad” approach to head and heart. But with deadly games and ghosts bleeding through into Jack’s reality, it’s a fight to see who out of the three of them will survive long enough to find a way out of the vicious game played by someone known only as...the Unknown.

I always hoped that it would happen....

The last night was very short for me, because I got my hands on the audiobook for my beloved "Don't" series. What do you think? It really is the greatest thing that can happen when an author gives voices to the most beloved characters.
And Jack has chosen very carefully. They are her guys and she knows these men by heart. It's therefore no surprise that Jack H speaks the typical accent already described in the book. Cockney. And it's like I'm back in England..... a bit of a challenge for non native speakers this Cockney accent, you know ;)
But I really enjoyed it. The narrator knows how to give each main character a voice and make it unique. You know exactly who speaks.

So then, I'm very, very grateful to the author for taking all the trouble to give us "Don't" as an audio - after an eventful year, that she has cost a lot of nerves as a newly-made self-publisher, too. But all the work was so worth it. The revised "Don't" series in a new cover and now even as an audiobook version.

Thank you very much for all that, Jack!

I DON'T know ... it's for the 5th time or so that I read this series now. I can't help it.

This book series tells one of the most exciting stories I've read. Ever.
It has rarely happened to me that a written work incapacitates me to fall asleep late at night or leave me awake in the early morning hours because I have to think about the fictional characters as if these were real people out of my life.

The Don’t main characters have been accompanying me for several years now and therefore they have in some way become a part of my life. I spent days getting to know them, to understand how they think and feel. And in this sense I became acquainted with them and I have learned to love them. And it is this love to them that makes all the suffering hardly bearable which happens to them. And they have a lot to endure.
In the course of this series we get presented details from their lives. How they get to know each other and how skilled manipulation influenced their lives and how all of this leads to a pure fight for survival.

It's difficult to describe. The complexity, ingenuity, the longlasting reverberations... I can't give my deep feelings for these books the right weight in a foreign language. I want to say that this book series is my personal reading highlight. And with highlight I mean in terms of earth-shattering. And then for a while nothing else. Before then queuing my other favorites.

Highly recommended!
