Oh Doc I love you!

Oh Doc I love you, don´t we all wish for someone like you!

I swear those prologues get me every time. Might be the most difficult part of the book to listen/read but they give you the back story of each member and the reasons that make them who they are.

I just loved everything about Doc/Eric, his love for Joanna, his relationship with his mum and why it is so special, and his devotion to his ruthless brothers. I didn´t really know what to expect going into his story as he was always the calm and sane member. He is their Doc but deep inside he is hiding a darkness that will do what is necessary for the people he loves.

Joanna is one of the girls who got saved from human trafficking by the Ruthless Kings. She was taken in and is currently finishing her college degree. Joanna and Doc always had a special relationship and a certain attraction which they did not act on. Eric and Joanna both have scarred souls and bodies inherited from their pasts which impacted their lives.

Eric wants to be Joanna´s saviour, give her everything and help her with her demons. Jo just wants to love Eric and shelter him from hurt but doesn’t think she deserves him because of a secret she is keeping.

KL Savage books are real, raw, emotional, very explicitly steamy (the sex is OMG so hawt), and never short of graphic violence, so this one was no exception. Let me just say, there is this one scene including a scalpel, where even though I was only listening, I had my eyes shut tight, jaw clenched and cringing. Did not see that coming at all! Even though it is another dark, heart-breaking emotional story, it is also about love, family, justice and overcoming. These bikers are not ruthless for nothing, they have their methods, be it violent or crude but they have their heart in the right place and only give their wrath to those who deserve it.

Doc is narrated by Avery Caris and Connor Brown, who are new to me but I enjoyed listening to them. I do love to listen to new voices and also love that KL Savage uses different narrators for their books.
