I've been a fan of character-driven suspense novels for many years (anyone remember Ruth Rendell?) but lately I've been wondering if the genre has become too popular for its own good, pushing out large quantities of titles with poorly fleshed out characters and all-too similar plots. However, I am so glad I picked up Disclaimer. The story kept unfolding in ways I did not expect, and had me question my assumptions more than once, up until the very end. A captivating listen.
