There is a spiritual guru, who is killed at the beginning. He had quite a following to his faith, and all of them lived in a manor house together. The story follows Inspector Barnaby and Sergeant Troy as they uncover the truth through investigating the pasts of the people of this community. Of course it also wouldn‘t be a Barnaby book without a few additional murders along the way.
