Loneliness, death, grief, and conflict. We all suffer from these, but will they kill us? This poet thinks so. More than 100 micro poems, only a few words each, speak for all of us that are slowly dying from isolation, distance, death, and fear. Recognized as "a meaningful new voice in American Poetry", Plett's poems have been described as "fragile portals" to connect, feel, and bond with. Longlisted for the 2018 Sexton Poetry Prize, Death Rattles is loaded with daily mantras, promises to oneself, comfort chants, and sometimes, jokes to help you lighten up. With the author's intense, darkly comedic, and clever revelations, you'll find yourself bonding with them as they encapsulate a collective feeling of the times. We are all alone together.
