As the child of a privileged family in Bristol during the 1700s, David wanted nothing more than to exchange the shackles of upper-class living for life as a sailor on the open seas. However, after stowing away on a ship headed for the Americas, an attack by pirates quickly turns David’s childish dream into a desperate struggle for survival.
From fighting sea monsters to finding true love, David learns by experience the price he must pay to pursue his desires. But will David ever find his way back to Bristol or forever remain a boy lost among the waves? If you enjoy classic adventure stories like Robinson Crusoe and Treasure Island, you will most certainly enjoy this swashbuckling coming-of-age tale.
