The story is very good, it has food for thought and the performance is incredible. It is different than other audiobook with the different readers, but it could not be otherwise for this book.

Viel darüber gelesen hatte ich nicht, als ich dieses Buch gekauft habe. Deshalb war mir auch lange nicht klar, dass die Band tatsächlich fiktiv ist. Man kann keine Fotos googeln und keine Musik auf U-Tube suchen....
Ich fand die Geschichte und ihre Aufmachung wunderbar und anders. Es ist ein wilder Ritt durch die 70-er. Obgleich ich schon viel intensivere Liebesgeschichten gelesen habe, ich Daisy wegen Ihrer ausnahmlos und unentschuldigbar narzistischen und egozentrischen Art nicht ausstehen konnte und obwohl ich fand, dass es ein paar zuviele epische Momente gab, hat mir das Buch sehr gefallen. Viele netten Menschen und gute Unterhaltung in einem interessanten Schreibstil vereint: ein Buch das bleibt.

Daisy Jones and the six ist komplett im Interview-Modus geschrieben und erzählt aus verschiedenen Perspektiven die Geschichte der titelgebenden Rock-Band von ihren Anfängen bis zu ihrer plötzlichen Auflösung.

Ich habe das Buch im englischen Original als Hörbuch gehört und es hat mir außerordentlich gut gefallen, obwohl ich zunächst etwas skeptisch aufgrund der ungewöhnlichen Erzählweise war. Das Hörbuch wurde von mehreren Künstlern gelesen, die die einzelnen Charaktere verkörperten. Ein großes Lob an den Sprecher von Billie Dunne, der dessen zerrissene Gefühlswelt sehr gut rübergebracht hat.

Nachdem ich zwischenzeitlich auch die Serie zum Buch geschaut habe, habe ich nun auch ein physisches Exemplar bestellt. Ich schätze das unterstreicht wie gut ich diese Geschichte finde.

Mal etwas ganz anderes

Die Geschichte über eine Rockband in den 70ern ist zwar spannend, aber etwas vorhersehbar. Durch den Interview-Stil, in dem alle Charaktere ihre eigene Stimme bekommen, wird das Ganze aber sehr interessant; die Umsetzung dieses Punktes wirkt im Hörbuch noch besser, da jeder Charakter eine eigene Stimme hat und es wirklich wie ein Hörspiel/Interview wirkt. Sehr cool!!

This book has a unique writing style that can best be enjoyed as an audiobook. Even if you might not be into the story, it is a fascinating listen that I can recommend to anyone. What I also liked a lot, is that it was easy to understand for a not native speaker and that when you don't always pay attention, you will still find your way back into the story without doing a rewind.

This is such an amazing book. You will wonder if the band was real or not, and to tell you the truth, I still refuse to believe they were not real, just as I refuse to believe Evelyn Hugo wasn't real. TJR knows how to get those characters alive and close to our hearts, so you can cry and laugh with them. This is the first book in my life that I listened to twice in a row.

Ein sehr lebendiges Hörbuch 😍
Die unterschiedlichen Sprecher:innen gaben mir das Gefühl mit anwesend zu sein. Die realistische Erzählweise hat den Eindruck erschaffen, die Geschichte sei absolut echt.
