Does one need four fully-grown foxgloves for decorating a dinner table for six guests? Or is it six foxgloves to kill four fully-grown guests? Sophronia's first year at school has certainly been rousing. First, her finishing school is training her to be a spy. (Won't Mumsy be surprised!) Secondly, she gets mixed up in an intrigue over a stolen device and has a cheese pie thrown at her. Ich mochte die Parasol Protectorate (Im deutschen 'Lady Alexia') Bände von Gail Carriger. Die Finishing School Reihe (bisher nur auf englisch erschienen) spielt 20 Jahre vor dem Start der anderen Romane. Dennoch empfehle ich sie in der Reihe zu hören in der sie geschrieben wurden.

Es ist grandios wie hier die Geschichte von Sophronia weiter geführt wird, sie Charakteren begegnet die in der vorangeganen Reihe schon erwähnt werden und wie Geschichte bei der die Ergebnisse vielleicht ansatzweise bekannt sind, dennoch enorm spannend erzählt wird. Zudem ist es mal wieder gespickt mit großartigem Wortwitz, einfallsreichtum und Modedetails.

Moira Quirk ist eine großartige Sprecherin, weit besser als ihr deutsches Gegenstück. Auch wenn viele komplizierte Wörter einzug finden halte ich die Buchreihe auch in Englisch für ungeübte für geeignet.
