Cora faces death, abandonment, bullying, family struggles, attempted rape, loss of a child, and finally, redemption.
Cora’s Story follows the adventurous life of Cora Crawford. Born in the early 1900s and raised on a small mountain in rural Eastern Tennessee, Cora shares the tale of her young life with the listener. This historical, inspirational coming-of-age fiction will entertain and encourage as Cora finds her way to a life filled with God’s grace.
An excerpt of Cora’s Story:
I listened as the family talked as they settled down for the night. I still lay on the bed, too frightened to relax and go to sleep. Just before dawn, I finally dozed.
The small table was not any match for his shove, and the door was opened before I could move. He was on top of me before I was fully awake. When he put his hand over my mouth, I bit him and pushed him to the floor. I had been sleeping with the butcher knife at my side, so I grabbed it as I stood up.
