This book very much reminds me of 'I am a Spider, so what?'. Not only because both are reborn as a critter into a dungeon, but because of the writing style. First person, humorous internal dialogue and POV's of the outside world to name just a few. Personally I liked I am a Spider, so what? better, particularly because the humor in this one can be pretty hit and miss, but maybe it's just because I read that first. Either way, this one is enjoyable enough. Do give it a try c:

In Chrysalis, a young man is reborn as an ant in a fantasy world. Alone in a monster-eat-monster dungeon, he is off to a difficult start.

I am not a fan of books where the main character has no one else to talk to, however RinoZ found a smart workaround for this, so it doesn't get boring, and it's Jeff Hays that ultimately brings this story to life. Jeff conveys an energy and optimism that I have not come accross yet.

Unexpected. Well written, with a pace that is easy to get you hooked with.
The story is original and in line with litrpg. The author does not take myself to serious and thus a light, fun and entertaining adventure is born.
It took me some time to realize that the bad (London dialect?) Accent used for the MC during the first hour was to show case the lower mental capacities of the MC... I felt like screaming everytime the MC said me'er instead of meter.
Great book, I will read on.

Jeff is as great as ever and Annie Ellicott give it a pleasant touch.
My inner mind says something about „new achievement“what ever that means…
Give it a shot, i keep going with part 2 and 3 is work in progress?

I started the story on Saturday and finished it on Monday afternoon. The story of an ant in a game like RPG world hooked me instantly and the several hours spend listening too it just flew by. I was thrilled when I found out that there is more books. I can only recommend it.
