Eine typische Heyer-Geschichte, die ich nun mal sehr liebe, aber eine grauenhafte Sprecherstimme für junge Frauen. Skinner kann sie einfach nicht modulieren, was ihm bei den Herren sehr gut gelingt.

Sadly, in Charity Girl, our two heroes Hetta and Viscount Desford spend very little time together. Most of the book recounts Desford’s efforts to help goosish Cherry and his wild goose chase across England to find her father. It is in parts very funny, the characters of Cherry’s father and grandfather are entertaining caricatures. But for my taste there is too little focus on the main romance and the end seems hasty.
