So weird. I loved it.
The story apparently is a love it or hate it situation. I loved it and enjoyed the narrator as well except her mimic of a scottish accent. That was a miss

disturbing and unique
Not exactly a book for kids, right?
Some really disturbing elements of Horror, making it somewhat toxic. But not a Horror story after all.
Even romantic and dreamy in many aspects, however sad and depressing. Not the kind of book you read for pure entertainment.
And a very unique story, a very original idea, something that really stands out.

Seltsam auf eine gute Art
Das Buch ist schwer zu bewerten. Es ist vielschichtig und bleibt bis zum Ende überraschend. Zwischendurch hat mich die Passivität der Protagonistin genervt, deshalb nur 4 Sterne. Es ist aber definitiv eine Geschichte die im Gedächtnis bleibt. Die Sprecherin hat mir auch sehr gut gefallen.

weird plot, beautiful writing style
I'm not sure what I was listening to ... what was even happening?
Okay, so ... the story starts as Mean Girls and then add a cult + weird and not explained magic + brain washed characters + confused readers ... I guess.
I've heard that you either love or hate this book. Well, I'm in the middle. I'm really not sure about it.
I LOVE the writing style. It was wonderful and sometimes humorful and even poetic. Also the narrator is very good.
There's a lot of weird stuff going on in this book, but you can tell it's thought-out nevertheless. But I think there should be more explanation so the reader doesn't feel lost after finishing the book. An open ending is great, but here are too many open questions.
