Been so excited for this book and listened to it in just one day. the story is incredible, it's funny, it's engaging, it's sad from time to time.
but I do have to say, ending left me a little disappointed. I can't point out what exactly made me feel that way, but I wish it could end a little differently.

Um ehrlich zu sein, war dieser 3. Teil nach "Legends & Lattes" sowie "Bookshops & Bonedust" für mich bis ca. 90% ein 4 ⭐ Buch.
Travis Baldree sagt im Nachwort selbst, dass dieser Teil kein typisches cozy Fantasy Buch ist, sondern sehr viel mehr Action beinhaltet und auch schwierige Themen behandelt. Er "will nicht immer dieselben Bücher schreiben" und dafür applaudiere ich ihm. Er hätte es sich auch leicht machen und eine weitere Geschichte über ein sympathisches Fantasy-Wesen schreiben können, das ein Small Business eröffnet.
Stattdessen schreibt er humorvoll, nah und auch oft schmerzhaft über Fern's Zerrissenheit, die sich in ihrem bisherigen Traumjob nicht mehr wohlfühlt und gleichzeitig noch nicht weiß, wohin die Reise stattdessen gehen soll.
Mit Astryx und Zyll findet sie ganz besondere Weggefährten und es hat mir Freude bereitet, die 3 zu begleiten. Wie immer gebe ich eine große Empfehlung für das Hörbuch, das vom Autor in der englischen Variante selbst eingesprochen wird. Besonders Zyll wird hier grandios vertont.
Während der letzten beiden Kapitel liefen bei mir quasi durchgehend Tränen, sodass ich schlussendlich auch diesem Teil 5 ⭐ gebe. Für mich ist und bleibt es eine Herzensreihe.
