Hudson Hopper is in trouble. After doing his business partner Jude a favor by hiring Jude’s younger sister Sloane, Hudson very quickly finds out that she is a massive distraction—especially since she’s now his assistant.
Things get more complicated when Hudson volunteers Sloane to fill in as a bridesmaid for a potential client, and she agrees…with certain stipulations. She’ll be a part of the Regency wedding—corset and all—if Hudson marries her. Sloane knows the value of the trade: he needs her to get into a high-society club to help secure his business deal, and she could use a down payment to secure her childhood home in return.
It’s an instant no from Hudson at first, but when she convinces him that no one will find out, including her brother, and points out how he will benefit from the marriage too…well, Hudson might just find himself saying “I do.”

Amazing Narrators
The emotions that are transported through the narrators voices is this throughly fantastic. I have laughed aloud and had tears in my eyes… It is a really sweet and funny story.

Best out the series
All books were amazing and funny but this one was my absolute favorite! Made me laugh out loud and cry. The 🌶️ on this one was spicing!!

A true romcom
This audiobook should come with a warning: PLEASE don’t listen in public — you’ll end up laughing uncontrollably like a maniac, and people will literally run away from you (true story).
I’m completely in love with Meghan Quinn’s style of writing — how she can make you laugh out loud one minute, then cry or swoon the next. I loved how Sloane was so confident and self-assured. She didn’t let herself get walked over by Hudson, even though he was her older boss. She never hesitated to call out his bullshit, and I admired her for that. She was an absolute force to be reckoned with.
At the beginning, I found Hudson arrogant, but as the story unfolded, you see the man behind the facade — full of insecurities, not believing he deserved love from someone as sunshiny as Sloane. It broke my heart a little. Seeing his vulnerability, realizing that all he wanted was to be loved the right way… it hit hard.
Also, the “MY WIFE” trope? Forever one of my favorites.
