Milo’s not like anyone I’ve ever known. I like laughing and flirting with him. He’s adorably honest, eager, and sexier than he realizes. Now, I just have to figure out how to convince him that maybe it’s time for an upgrade from bestie to boyfriend goals.

This story really warmed my heart. Watching Milo and Gideon’s friendship slowly unfold and grow into something deeper felt so natural and genuine. Their connection builds in such a sweet, organic way and I loved seeing their relationship evolve. It made me smile a lot, laugh in several moments, and even well up with tears here and there. It felt like such a comforting little escapism.
Characters – 5⭐
Milo completely stole my heart. He is honestly one of the most unique, pure, and memorable characters I’ve read in a long time. I fell in love with his quirks, his blunt honesty, and the way he processes the world around him. His inner monologues were sometimes brutally honest, sometimes funny, sometimes sad—but always very real. Milo is somewhere on the autism spectrum and highly intelligent, and I really appreciated how thoughtfully his character was written. His independence matters deeply to him, and I admired how he stands up for himself and refuses to let others define what he can or cannot do.
Gideon, on the other hand, is much more relaxed and easygoing. He’s open, flirty, charming, and very hot—but what really stood out to me was his kindness and patience. He never treats Milo like he’s different or “too much.” He simply accepts him exactly as he is. There’s this quiet, almost unspoken understanding between them that makes their connection feel incredibly genuine and special.
Their dynamic is refreshing, sweet, and often full of humor. They couldn’t be more different, yet they complement each other perfectly. Watching their friendship unfold and gradually deepen into love was truly beautiful.
Writing – 4⭐
The writing flows easily and pulls you right into Milo’s perspective. His voice is distinct and memorable, which made the reading experience feel very immersive. The balance between humor, emotional moments, and romance was really well done.
Spice – 3⭐
The spice is nicely done and never overshadows the heart of the story. What made those moments particularly memorable is Milo’s complete lack of filter and blunt honesty—he simply blurts out his desires and thoughts, which often lead to both funny and endearing moments.
Narration – 4⭐
The audiobook narration by Iggy Toma was very enjoyable. He captured Milo’s voice and personality well and gave the characters warmth and charm. That said, I would have loved a dual or duet narration. Having separate voices for Milo and Gideon could have added even more distinction and authenticity to the characters. Still, this is only a small nitpick.
✨ Overall, this was a heartwarming, funny, and deeply touching story about two very different people who fit together perfectly.
