One fateful summer evening, businessman Robin Timariot meets a strikingly beautiful woman while out walking. They exchange only a few words, but those words prove to be unforgettable. A few days later, the newspapers are full of the rape and murder of Lady Louise Paxton - and to his horror, Timariot realises that this was the woman he met just hours before her death.

The story is a typical Goddard and comes with twists and turns. Unlike other of his book the dwelling on certain scenes and inner monologs is a bit exhausting. Also, I could have grabbed his anti-hero by the neck and shook him at times, because of the abundance of obviously foolish decisions he made. Well, it's a Goddard, after all.
John Telfer is a master narrator and I really enjoy his performance.
