Braxton maybe an upcoming modern art painter but when it comes to boyfriends his taste budds seem totally malfunctioning. Everyone at the Vanguard Towers despises his current „boyfriend“. The break-up is bad and Brax doesn't want to hear his brothers tell him „told you so“. Instead he finds shelter and comfort with Ryland, Hunter's FBI partner. Ryland has had a secret crush on Braxton for years, but didn't persue his feelings until now. He worries this might affect his relationship with Hunter and the other 6 brothers and the age gape hasn´t become any smaller either, but Brax needs him!

In „Body & Soul“ Aiden Bates sets the spotlight on an eye catching pair. Brax is young, bubbly and colorful, but his past on the streets still haunts him and makes him feel unsecure and vulnerable. Ryland is older, in monocrome black+white, calm and relyable. The suspense part of the story is small but their getting together after all those years is engaging from start to the HEA ending. The other brothers and boyfriends have reoccurring moments and epxress their oppinions. The world of the Vanguard Towers grows , new characters are cleverly introduced and the final chapter already hints to the next story!

Changing the narrator in a series is usually hard for me to accept. I liked Joseph Thorson and found his interpretations of Derek, Seb, Wyatt and Eli so fitting. Guillaume Dubois' voice is different, but absolutely perfect to express Brax and his myriad of different emotions. Rylands inner conflict and his soft-dominance over Brax with a huge chunck of care and soooo much love is also impressively voiced by Mr. Dubois. Even cat Domino gets his own sounds, which is so cute! The banter between the brothers is fresh and naturally coming along. Thanks for this great 6 + hours „kidnapping“ me into the Vanguard Tower world!
