The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, holds the fate of the world in his hands in the New York Times best-selling first novel in the Witcher series that inspired the Netflix show and video games.
For more than a hundred years humans, dwarves, gnomes and elves lived together in relative peace. But times have changed, the uneasy peace is over and now the races once again fight each other - and themselves: dwarves are killing their kinsmen, and elves are murdering humans and elves, at least those elves who are friendly to humans....
Into this tumultuous time is born a child for whom the witchers of the world have been waiting. The first deep dive
This is the most lore-heavy entry in the series in my reading so far - and especially at the end it could have used a little bit more action in my opinion. Nevertheless, it's a very good book: The relationship in the triangle of main characters is very well structured and progresses nicely. And also the narrator lays out one of the best performances I have ever heard.

Great third Witcher audiobook
Narrated very beautifully by Peter Kenny. The great start of the Witcher novels after "the last wish" and "the sword of destiny" short story collections. A must for Witcher fans!

Very nice worldbuilding
Great audiobook. Audio is not totally perfect but a single narrator can only change his voice so much. The story has great worldbuilfing, but the end feels a bit abrupt

beautiful perfection
If there is such a thing as perfection in a story, here you can find it. Everything from the eay the story is told to the characters and plotline...

very good, a little confusing
I liked the audiobook a lot, especially the reader, only some parts where a bit confusing. Although I did not understand right what was happening in which part, I could not stop listening. I had also watched the serie before, wich I can only recommend.

I could not recommend this title more.

Read exceptionally well
A very good story, here any there a little long-winded but still interesting, thanks to the reading style of Peter Kenny and his various voices.
The authors style of storytelling especially by making the reader or the audience remember through the character was refreshing.

Great story, to fast read
Story is great, performance is great. The only problem was that the actor read the book way too fast. Slowing down the playback to 0.8x fixed the problem.
