I have the book in german, but wanted the audiobook in english. Emma Galvin makes thia perfekt.

Sehr schöne Geschichte

Nach Jahren habe ich mir mal wieder einen YA Roman geholt. Und dieser war vor 8 Jahren ja auch ein echter Hit. Das Buch ging sich zunächst auch gut an: witzige Dialoge, sympathische Leute, glaubwürdiges Knistern. Dann wurde die Storyline aber immer hohler. On und off ohne den Sinn dahinter zu erkennen. Ich sehe zwar, dass die meisten von uns mit 20 viele unüberdachte, rücksichtslose Dinge getan haben, aber hier kam ich nicht mehr mit. Auch das Drama nahm in nicht nachvollziehbarem Maße zu. Jetzt ist es zu Ende und ich bin froh. Für mich ist die Serie zu Ende. 3 anstatt 2 Sterne wegen des guten ersten Drittels.

The story is super cringey and feels like fanfiction or something on Wattpad. If you are into toxic relationships or loved the After books this might be for you. But it definitely wasn't for me.

I could not finish this audiobook

At first I enjoyed the story and found it somehow charming. As the story moved further I startet to find the main characters annoying and stupid.

In the first chapter it feels like you’ve been thrown in the middle of the book. No further information. After a few chapters I started to care about the characters and was wondering where the story is going. After the first break up it just started to be really annoying. Al her endless monologues why she can’t be around him just to end up in his bed anyway. At the beginning of their relationship they were great to each other but as the story went on their relationship became more and more complicated and toxic. They never really talked problems out, made up with sex and just to came to the conclusion that they just need each other to simply exist.

All in all I kind of enjoyed it, there were great ideas but I wouldn’t recommend this book. It’s predictable and the characters are missing any kind of growth and development to stay interesting till the end.
