When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm.

His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real.

Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Destiny is calling. His grandfather's legacy awaits.

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime with USA Today best-selling author J.N. Chaney and Terry Maggert in this galactic quest for glory.

Enjoyable from start to finish!
Great characters and the numerous ongoing plots are exciting. Here you will find action and adventure.
Well written and performed! For non-native speakers, this audiobook is pretty easy to follow.
Brilliant - like Wayward Galaxy or Ruins of the Earth / Galaxy.

Start of a new fantastic series

Ett fel uppstod. Försök igen om några minuter.
For my taste the story resembles too much a first-person role-playing build-your-character adventure type computer game, where you gather credits, increase devices capabilities, collect items, etc. If you like playing those games then perhaps you will enjoy listening to an audio-version of such a scenario.

Story is very much like a computer game

The book is great and the story is interesting.
Only the narrator is a little monotone.

Good story, exited for the next book

Ett fel uppstod. Försök igen om några minuter.
Well, as a sci-fi fan I grabbed this book and expected a lot.
And honestly, the story is quite good and a nice piece of sci-fi.

But the book has its lengths. The way to awareness nearly made me quit.

Hope to be more impressed with the coming chapters.

Interesting storyline

Ett fel uppstod. Försök igen om några minuter.
The idea of the story can be fun, the characters are passably likeable and the world isn't badly built, but sadly the story itself isn't believeable.
From minor stuff like the protagonists grandfather being one of the best peacemakers and having a stash of weapons on the ship, but not having enough money to preserve his ship in top condition to story breaking mistakes like Perry the super AI seemingly forgetting to tell the protagonist that the target ship could be boobytrapped before he tries to open it.

lost suspense of disbelieve
