DMSO entered modern medicine largely through the work of Stanley W. Jacob, M.D., at the Oregon Medical School. Beginning around 1959-1961, Jacob investigated DMSO as a potential cryoprotectant for preserving organs and biological tissues. He discovered something that would define much of DMSO's subsequent medical history: DMSO could rapidly penetrate biological membranes, including skin, without simply remaining on the surface. The question is, did medicine fail to adequately investigate a potentially valuable therapeutic molecule, or did DMSO fail to meet the scientific and safety standards required for widespread medical use? That's the subject of this week's podcast!

Who is Dr. Ron Dummar? He's a licensed Chiropractic Physician who holds a masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Dummar selected a scientific, evidence-based program for his Chiropractic training and additionally completed more than 3,000 hours of training in Acupuncture and Medicinal Herbs.
