Matthew 11:28 | Evening Prayer for Stress and Emotional Exhaustion
Scripture: Matthew 11:28 (KJV) — “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Prayer Themes • Stress • Comfort • Rest Welcome to Daily Prayer. I’m Reverend Ben Cooper. Join us live from London, England, as we bring the weight of this day to Jesus Christ, who welcomes the weary. Perhaps you have spent today meeting everyone else’s needs while quietly neglecting your own. You have answered the messages, carried the responsibilities and kept going because stopping did not feel possible. Now the evening has arrived, and you realise how tired you really are. In Matthew 11, Jesus invites the burdened to come to Him and learn from Him. His promise of rest is not an instruction to ignore our responsibilities or conceal our struggles. It is an invitation into His gentle care and a different way of carrying life’s burdens. We remember our worldwide prayer family across Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary and Romania. Whatever the hour where you are listening, Christ’s invitation remains open. Heavenly Father, God of Israel, You see those who have given everything they could today and still feel it was not enough. Lord Jesus, draw near to the exhausted parent, the overworked employee, the lonely carer and the person who cannot remember the last time they truly rested. Release us from the belief that our worth depends upon constant achievement. Holy Spirit, help us recognise our limits, seek support when we need it and receive the quiet strength that comes from Your presence. Teach us to lay down what was never ours to carry alone. May the gentleness of Jesus meet you this evening, His love ease your burdens and His peace give your heart room to rest. In His precious name, Amen. Pagpalain ka ng Diyos. Que Deus te abençoe. Que Dios te bendiga. שלום וברכה — Shalom u’vracha.
