A BRAND NEW powerful and emotional historical novel from Jina Bacarr, bestselling author of The Orphans of Berlin.

Paris, 1943: How much will one mother sacrifice to save the innocent?

Lia di Montieri is the star of the flying trapeze, risking her life every night. But by day, it’s her strength as a mother that drives her to risk even more, hiding and smuggling Jewish children beyond the Gestapo’s reach. Her circus has become a sanctuary for those with nowhere else to turn, especially two young Jewish orphans – Anna and Jakob – who are in her care.

But then Lia’s own estranged daughter vanishes into the streets of occupied Paris, and long-buried secrets threaten everything Lia has fought to protect. As betrayal closes in and the Nazis draw close in on her hidden troupe, Lia is thrust into a high-stakes game of survival, betrayal, and danger. Where she will have to put her faith in unlikely allies to find her daughter, and to keep the small children safe.

As the war rages around her, will Lia risk sacrificing her history, her circus, and her own chance at happiness to save others?

The Flight of the Stolen Children is a breathtaking historical drama of courage, secrets, and a mother’s fierce unbreakable love. Perfect for fans of Kristin Hannah, Fiona Valpy and Pam Jenoff.

This is the sequel to The Stolen Children of War but can be read as a standalone.
