Jesus calls us to vigilance—not as managers of wealth, but as servants of grace (Luke 12:39–48). St. Paul reminds us that we have been set free from sin and made servants of righteousness (Romans 6). Yet in too many parishes, people are valued by their donations instead of their dignity. This episode is a prophetic and pastoral reflection for clergy, ministers, and parishioners alike: the Church’s greatest treasure is not its bank account, but its people. Christ does not measure us by what we give, but by how we love. Let’s return to the Gospel’s heart—prayer, humility, Confession, Eucharist, and service—and become servants of the Servant.
