WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BECOME YOUR PLANET’S FINAL BOSS?

THIS IS THE EPIC AND FAST-PACED NOVEL FROM THE MILLION COPY BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF SMASH-HIT DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL.

All New Sonoran colonist Oliver Lewis ever wanted to do is run the family ranch and keep their aging fleet of intelligent agriculture bots ticking.

But now the colossal Apex Corporation has been hired to commence an “eviction action” – exterminate all life on New Sonora in preparation for a reboot. And they charge bored Earthers for the opportunity to design their own war machines, remotely pilot them, and make it a game.

The game is called Operation Bounce House . . .

And New Sonora is its playing field.

Determined to defend the only home he’s ever known, Oliver and his friends find themselves fighting for their lives against these machines.

To earth its a game, but to Oliver, it's war.

"Matt Dinniman has cooked us all up a deliciously terrifying gamer geek stew, mixing up Avatar and Ender's Game, with a dash of The Last Starfighter and Independence Day thrown in. This tale is more twisted fun than you can shake a joystick at.” Ernest Cline, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Ready Player One

"Irreverent yet heartfelt, nostalgic yet wholly original, with Operation Bounce House, Dinniman delivers another anarchic adventure rich with riotous characters and a plot that crackles towards chaos with all the alacrity of a dynamite fuse." Pierce Brown, bestselling author of Red Rising

"The audiobook, narrated by Legends & Lattes author Travis Baldree and featuring a guest appearance from Dungeon Crawler Carl narrator Jeff Hays, is also a real delight." Tayla Honebeek, the Mirror

What if someday Gamergate went galactic? What if the toxic corporate interests of Earth tasked its most toxic gamers with doing their colonialist bidding? What if their insignificant incel reign of terror reached beyond the borders of their parents' basements and bedrooms, and they were all given remote command of real weapons of war on another world? Matt Dinniman has cooked us all up a deliciously terrifying gamer geek stew, mixing up Avatar and Ender's Game, with a dash of The Last Starfighter and Independence Day thrown in. This tale is more twisted fun than you can shake a joystick at.
Irreverent yet heartfelt, nostalgic yet wholly original, with Operation Bounce House, Dinniman delivers another anarchic adventure rich with riotous characters and a plot that crackles towards chaos with all the alacrity of a dynamite fuse.
Fast-paced, clever, and with plenty of heart—the rare book that's both thoughtful and tremendously entertaining.
Creative and well-written as ever, Operation Bounce House reminds me how much storytelling a great writer can pack into a single volume.
An all-hands-on-deck sci-fi war novel that pits the peasants against the plutocracy, pitchforks against spaceships, rock ’n’ roll against oppression, and love against greed… you’re gonna love every bloody page of it.
Operation Bounce House has all the humor, sudden violence and pop culture insight that made Dungeon Crawler Carl a massive success…You won’t be able to put it down.
Strap in and grab your pitchfork because Matt Dinniman is back again with a fast-paced stand-alone novel that’s sure to leave you itching for more.
Dungeon Crawler Carl author Matt Dinniman’s Operation Bounce House is a hair-raising intergalactic invasion that never forgets the humans at its core.
Addictive... The stakes are sky-high, and the Ender's Game-esque plot moves at a rapid clip. ... Fans will not be disappointed.
SF readers will have a ball.

Unsurprisingly, this book is in Matt Dinniman’s writing style, which I got to know through DCC and had to get used to, but came to like.

The overarching topic of this book is AI. I find it obviously inspired by the current AI—or, to be more precise, LLM—boom. As a student in this field, I am incredibly sensitive to misrepresentations of the facts and possibilities.

Similar to Dungeon Crawler Carl, Matt Dinniman manages to “debate” philosophical questions in an astoundingly human and, to me, sympathetic way—being expressly subjective without making so many assumptions as to become overbearingly judgmental, biased, or confuse reality with narrative.

The audio quality of the first few chapters—possibly hours, was not too good. At the beginning, the narrator sounded a bit like he hadn’t done this many times before, especially when it came to differentiating between voices. But after a few hours, he started to manage it better and got to—might I say—excellent. I liked his performance overall.

A great story with a slightly rough start

the book was as expected awesome though while the ending was not what I would've liked more to underscore the message I personally felt, its nonetheless a great ending. Overall its crazy, weird and full of twists and turns one would expect. though dont come in and expect another dungeoncrawler Carl, this book ahs definitely its own tone and cadence. I especially appreciated the nuances in the villains who are heinous but in their evil feel banal and real. they are terrible people but one can see how they think and how human their viewpoint is, which makes the whole story just that much more tragic.

I can only praise this book as a fun short adventure into matts crazy brain for a beautiful story, great characters and a surprising ending at least for what I expected.

this all fails to mention the stellar work of the voice actor as well as Jeff hays wonderful cameo which will delight all DCC fans. the voices were wonderful distinct and I especially appreciated Rodger the AI, which is much nicer than Matts other AIs.

Another great from Matt Dinnaman

The usual mixture of amazingly written characters, fascinating world building and prescient narrative. Can't recommend enough. My only complaint is that while Travis Baldree is a talented narrator, he is not Jeff Hays. This becomes more apparent because Jeff Hays a character.

Matt Dinniman does it again!

To quote my husband: it was surprisingly current without being preachy

I am not even gonna try to summarize the plot. But although this isn’t part of the DCC series (or world), it was still very much Dinnemann and I loved it!

This book heavily discusses AI and the implications thereof in a sci-fi setting. It worked, it was dungeon level chaos and I had the best time
