Bringing his twin gifts of scientific speculation and scathing satire to bear on that hapless planet, Earth, Lem sends his unlucky cosmonaut, Ijon Tichy, to the Eighth Futurological Congress. Caught up in local revolution, Tichy is shot and so critically wounded that he is flashfrozen to await a future cure.

Najtrafniejsze

I am a huge fan of sci-fi and dystopian stories and this is a masterpiece. Lem has an incredible creative world building and a somewhat complex storyline. It is not easy literature so if you look out for a slice of life kinda book maybe this one is not for you. But if you are interested in a rollercoaster of completely new impressions mixed with a twist of reality and surrealism this you will love it!! One note: Lem likes to write his books in “three parts”: first third is stirs, the second is world building and the last is again story. So don’t get frustrated if the middle part appears “boring” because the plot pauses , it’s going to continue even better afterwards. Use that break to relax and try to imagine the world he describes . In any case: I would totally hear it again and again!!

Absolutely amazing!!!
