Great story, some serious reading issues

Great stories. Since Jules Verne is a classic it makes little sense to
evaluate his writing here. I profoundly enjoyed what I listened to.

The audio-quality is mediocre. For the first two stories (80 days around the world
and the mysterious island) one can get used to the result of an apparently not very
sophisticated recording studio. At some points during the mysterious island I could hear
a phone ringing in the background - but overall those first two stories are quite enjoyable.
It all sounded normal to me after a few minutes.

The third one however (twenty thousand leagues), read by Michele Fry was unbearable to me.
At every comma I would hear her take in a sharp breath. I looked into some later chapters and this
remained. It was just too annoying and I don't think I could have gotten used to it.

Still I think considering what one gets for the money this is a good deal to take advantage of, for the
first two novels, if one makes slight allowances for the amateur-ish recording. For twenty thousand there
is deal for half a budget by Trout Lake Media and read by Alan Munroe which sounds really good so far.
