The Sunday Times bestseller from the worldwide bestselling author of Amazon Prime's NINE PERFECT STRANGERS and the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning HBO series BIG LITTLE LIES.

The Delaney family love one another dearly - it's just that sometimes they want to murder each other . . .

Joy Delaney and husband Stan have done well. Four wonderful grown-up children. A family business to envy. The golden years of retirement ahead of them.

So when Joy Delaney vanishes - no note, no calls, her bike missing - it's natural that tongues will wag.

How did Stan scratch his face? And who was the stranger who entered and suddenly left their lives? What are they all hiding?

But for the Delaney children there is a much more terrifying question: did they ever know their parents at all?

Critics' reviews

A fantastic storyteller. Apples Never Fall is gripping, getting to the dark underbelly of a seemingly perfect family. A cracking read
An engrossing mashup of family drama and psychological suspense that offers a mystery. Complex and satisfying. Perfect holiday reading
Enthralling
Moriarty's portrait of a tennis-mad family is convincing . . . And she keeps a stunning revelation up her sleeve until the final pages

This is a tour-de-force of a novel; brilliantly plotted and superbly written . . . No detail of family life and marriage escapes Moriarty's all seeing eye, and every sentence is packed with wit and insight. The tension builds to a conclusion alive with ingenious twists. Smart, sharp and utterly riveting

Moriarty's expert storytelling will have you turning page after page to discover truths lurking beneath the surface. The ending is witty and satisfying, but comes with a dark twist. Apples Never Fall is full of intrigue, suspense and surprises, sure to delight both readers and viewers of the TV adaptation already in the pipeline
Moriarty excels in the way all of her characters spring from the page so fully formed. A witty tale of domestic suspense and a satisfying, layered family drama
A deliciously dark story set in suburbia
Clever and relatable
Her writing is smart, her plots are clever, her dialogue believable and you can be sure that when you pick up one of her books you're in safe hands . . . If you want a book to see you through on your beach towel this summer, I highly recommend Liane's latest, Apples Never Fall. There's a lot of truth in it. Something we really do need right now (Fi Glover)

This is definitely one of the best of her so far. I finished the book in 3 days and I don’t really have the time, I just couldn’t stop listening. There is so much in there, subtle, simple and yet so profound. Caroline Lee is perfect as usual. All other novels sound so boring for a while after a novel by Liane Moriarty…

One of the best yet

Very nice story, loved it up to the end. The narrators voice was brilliant and suited every single character.

Highly recommended

Die Story ist gut, aber mir war es zu langweilig und ausführlich geschrieben. Ich habe es zu Ende gehört, bin immer dabei eingeschlafen

Seeehr ausführlich

Overall a good story, but the story found no end. It is as if the author could not decide how to end the story. It went on and on even when the mysterious disappearance were solved.

Story without end…..
