I was not fully capivated and couldn't wait for ut to finish. I might kusten to book 2, not sure yet.

It was ok

It started quite similar, the protagonist meets his first companions after escaping a wizard who summoned him, the companions help him to get the protagonist's adventuring on its way, the Adventure Society with basically the same codex, first actual adventurer team heavily influenced by local high society... Unfortunately, unlike the original, this isn't that good. It's not funny, clever or surprising. It's just listening to a simple story about simple people in a word that seems not well thought through. Maybe the author emancipates himself in the next part of the series.

He Who Fights With... Inspiration?

Generell ein gutes Buch, hier und da etwas verbesserungswürdig, aber es gehört definitiv zum besseren Drittel dieses Genres.

Ich hoffe nur, dass der MC künftig weniger Monologe führt und mehr Action macht.. so zieht sich der Content einfach etwas zu sehr..

Positives:

The Voice Actor is really good.
The world building is done well.

Negatives:
... the system is totally unlogical.
The MC redcons himself into picking the character classes and stuff... all the time.
He's an "adult" who is horny as a teenager. All the time he "oh what a hunk!" "Oh how pretty" Monologue in his head... but doesn't man up enough to do something.
Author self inserts hard... but probably isn't working in sciences. So the things are wonky.
And don't get me started on the obvious things an adult human being should thing to do in certain situations. But he forgets... cause it's way more dramatic that way. Like right at the beggining, where he floors the bad guy. Then doesn't finish him... just to go "oh shit!" and the bad guy teleports away for a probable epic battle later. Even if he had been bashed by a low level op MC already xD.


Generally i liked the fights and the story. But the negatives break imersion ... all the time when it gets good.
Sadly i will refund this ... can't stomache another minute xD.

All of the story parts are there, magic system etc, but everything feels a bit shallow/uninspired, the whole motivation of MC actions arises from short traumatic experience etc.
Not a bad book, but feels like a lot missed potential.
And for my taste the skills are too much unimpactful, MC takes bunch of move/dodge stuff? borrowing)
