Damn, so much feminist agenda... bha... it goes "I'm a woman, I don't need a help of man!"every other chapter. Main character is so full of herself. Supporting characters are so dull and one dimensional. Whole story is full of set age holes. A zipper appears out of nowhere, just for convenience. But idea is great, what's what kept me listening to the end, even tho, that performance is flat sometimes, didn't really meet my performance expectations. I will keep listening to a second book, because despite all of agenda and inconsistencies, the book sparked something intriguing in me.

Eine spannende Story, lebendige Figuren und toller Cliffhanger zum Schluss. Da will man unbedingt weiter hören. Die Sprecherin hat eine sehr angenehme Stimme und ist für mich gut verständlich.

Gefühlvoll und spannend

Tolles Hörbuch für Jugendliche oder jung gebliebene. Letztlich rutscht die Geschichte in das klassische Schema, das man von einem Jugendbuch erwartet (zufällig hat die Heldin als einzige besondere Eigenschaften und soll die Menschheit retten), aber genau das wünscht man sich doch und es sind dennoch viele Ideen in der Geschichte, die das ganze schön abrunden. Ich werde die Folge-Bücher kaufen.

New Story

Faith ist eine Waise, die mit ihrem Kumpel zusammen lebt und gerne Schwertkampf trainiert. Sie lernt die Schmiedin kennen und hält vor ihren Freunden geheim, dass sie sich mit einem heißen Fay trifft. Und das wars dann auch erstmal... Zu meiner Enttäuschung musste der Plot hier dem Charakter anschieben und Faith kommt hinter kein Rätsel alleine. Es passiert aber auch so nicht viel.
Zum Ende des Buches gibt es dann endlich Action. Aber ich denke ich werde die Reihe nicht weiter verfolgen.

Nachdem ich schon einige Fantasybücher gelesen habe, kann dieses hier leider nicht mithalten. Ich vergleiche innerlich mit "Daughter of No Worlds" und "Air Awakens", welche auch beide von ihrer starken Protagonistin leben. In beiden hat sich nach dem ersten Buch die Ausgangssituation hart geändert, die Protagonistin ihre Reise angetreten und es gab spannende diverse Nebencharaktere.
Trotz der richtigen Zutaten hat mir hier dann doch das Extra und die Spannung gefehlt.

The world is rooted in traditional Fantasy themes but can stand on its own. The nightwalking is an interesting new idea.
The story a such is a little slow in some places but seeing as it is Book 1 of 5 it is nice to have spend some time establishing the characters and relationships. I am very much looking forward to the next Book.

Feels very generic at first but keeps getting better as it goes. Give it a good minute before you DNF. I was pleasantly surprised. Narrator is excellent too. Definitely recommend.

Mag die Sprecherin sehr und auch die Geschichte ist schön zu verfolgen. High Fantasy über Freundschaft und eine slow burn romance Story. Es wird klar, dass dies erst der Auftakt ist, da vieles erst angeteasert wird, sodass die Geschichte spannend bleibt.

Schöne Geschichte & tolle Sprecherin

Die Geschichte ist spannend, die Protagonistin hat ihren eigenen Kopf, ohne dass es albern oder nervig wird. Das Worldbuilding ist nicht überfrachtet, unter der im ersten Teil angedeuteten Oberfläche gibt es mit Sicherheit noch sehr viel mehr zu entdecken. Slow Burn.
Elizabeth Evans liest hervorragend, man hängt ihr sozusagen an den Lippen.
Fans von Elise Kova (Air Awakens) und Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass, Das Reich der sieben Höfe) kommen hier definitiv auf ihre Kosten.

It took me a while to get into it and now I’m obsessed. Can’t wait to get started with book 2. I 100% recommend this book to all fantasy lovers. It really is amazing. Such a great story and lovable characters. I also really love the writing style.
I also love the narrator. She is doing an amazing job. So why why why why why whyyyy did they switch her out in the next book? The new narrator for book (2 and the following books) is just not suited for fantasy. At. All.
