Eine spannende Story, lebendige Figuren und toller Cliffhanger zum Schluss. Da will man unbedingt weiter hören. Die Sprecherin hat eine sehr angenehme Stimme und ist für mich gut verständlich.

Gefühlvoll und spannend

Die Geschichte ist spannend, die Protagonistin hat ihren eigenen Kopf, ohne dass es albern oder nervig wird. Das Worldbuilding ist nicht überfrachtet, unter der im ersten Teil angedeuteten Oberfläche gibt es mit Sicherheit noch sehr viel mehr zu entdecken. Slow Burn.
Elizabeth Evans liest hervorragend, man hängt ihr sozusagen an den Lippen.
Fans von Elise Kova (Air Awakens) und Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass, Das Reich der sieben Höfe) kommen hier definitiv auf ihre Kosten.

I have absolutely no idea what the person going on about "too much feminism" heard. But most likely not this story 😅 It's just a female main character. She loves her male friends just as much as her female ones. The stories of friendship and the slow pace this story is setting are the best things about this book. I think it's just a more realistic approach to how life *actually* works most of the time that she needs the help of others to achieve this or that. I loved the characters and I really liked the story. The only thing that had me cringing a bit in the beginning is that the world building seemed so generic. But honestly how else would you build it with fae and humans so I still enjoyed it.

Faith ist eine Waise, die mit ihrem Kumpel zusammen lebt und gerne Schwertkampf trainiert. Sie lernt die Schmiedin kennen und hält vor ihren Freunden geheim, dass sie sich mit einem heißen Fay trifft. Und das wars dann auch erstmal... Zu meiner Enttäuschung musste der Plot hier dem Charakter anschieben und Faith kommt hinter kein Rätsel alleine. Es passiert aber auch so nicht viel.
Zum Ende des Buches gibt es dann endlich Action. Aber ich denke ich werde die Reihe nicht weiter verfolgen.

Nachdem ich schon einige Fantasybücher gelesen habe, kann dieses hier leider nicht mithalten. Ich vergleiche innerlich mit "Daughter of No Worlds" und "Air Awakens", welche auch beide von ihrer starken Protagonistin leben. In beiden hat sich nach dem ersten Buch die Ausgangssituation hart geändert, die Protagonistin ihre Reise angetreten und es gab spannende diverse Nebencharaktere.
Trotz der richtigen Zutaten hat mir hier dann doch das Extra und die Spannung gefehlt.

It took me a while to get into it and now I’m obsessed. Can’t wait to get started with book 2. I 100% recommend this book to all fantasy lovers. It really is amazing. Such a great story and lovable characters. I also really love the writing style.
I also love the narrator. She is doing an amazing job. So why why why why why whyyyy did they switch her out in the next book? The new narrator for book (2 and the following books) is just not suited for fantasy. At. All.

Amazing 😻 but why change the narrator for book 2 when this one is great?
