This was amazing!
I loooved this Audio-Book. Reminded me of Arival a lot but in a nerdy-fun-way. The speakers were absolutely great and the story was just so cool. Couldn't help but wish I too could take part in solving dream riddles and help show how awesome humanity can be.

i have been wanting to read this book for a long time and it did not disappoint. I love Hank Green and I am excited to see where he takes his story in the next booj

Gutes Buch, Audioqualität meh
Really solid debut novel from Hank Green. I didn't ever buy into the premise, but the observations about how social media changes the way humans interact are astute and I'm sure partially based on real life experience. This and the well-drawn, complex characters are what really rings true and kept me listening. Unfortunately I found the audio quality disappointing and it was what kept ruining the immersion. I'm used to audiobooks sounding like the words just appear, crystal-clear, in my brain. This one had quite noisy "s" and "sh" sounds. Not what I would expect from a brand spanking new recording. I even got the other version available on Audible too to see if it was any better, but I don't think there was a difference.

Whaaaat
I truly don’t enjoy science-fiction or fantasy but THIS WAS BANANAS. It took me only one and a half days to listen to it. Way to go, Hank! I can highly recommend it. DFTBA

wonderful
I loved listening to this audio book! The action loaded plot, the carefully crafted characters (a female, bisexual protagonist with depth, who is witty, smart, flawed, funny, strong and relatable, as well as a lesbian BPOC character, not to forget the female POTUS), amazingly talented Kristen Sieh as the narrator and a finale that had me hanging on the edge of my couch. Green tells an original story about many things: an alien invasion, social media, fame, murder, contagious dreams and friendship. But ultimately he asks one question: what does it mean to be human?

Surprised by how entertaining & good this book is
The performance was brilliant, and although I didn't like Andy's voice at first it massively grew on me. Kisten Sieh did a wonderful job, really bringing the text to life.
More importantly though, the characters are enjoyable and interesting. The themes are well thought out and offer a nuanced understanding of the consequences of fame, the way social media shapes individual and societal behavior, and group dynamics.
Above all, Green's plot is filled with engaging mystery, which always kept my interest and enjoyment of the story very high. Frankly, I am shocked Hank Green is so talented at crafting stories. It was a fun and emotionally rich experience.

An absolut remarkable Read
It’s your choice, you’re either with Carl or you are a defender, but no matter who side you’re on, I can guarantee you - you would rather have your hand vanish then put down this book.

phenomenal
I quite a bit, probably 3-4 works of fiction and a 10 or more pieces of non-fiction a year. This is the best thing I have read in ages. Nothing has oriented me more clearly in the now or described the ineffable sensation of loneliness in a state of hyperconnection quite so viscerally. I can't recommend it enough. I won't shut up about it. I'm so glad I waited until the second book came out to read this one. I would have died if I had to wait.
