I thoroughly enjoyed listening to “Alpha’s Regret.” The world-building in this book is intricate and innovative. Because it is a world where single mothers are shamed and pushed out of society, I liked it even more that Jessica Hall created a strong, independent female main character. In this context, I also really liked the female narrator, Jenna St. Claire, who skillfully conveyed Everly's feelings, especially her anxiety and anger. However, unlike Everly, I found it difficult to relate to Valen's character. To me, he came across as selfish, immature, and expected everyone to do as he asked. And throughout the story, I don’t think his attitude changed much. Overall, I just hoped there would be more character development for Valen.

I would recommend this book especially to adult women who are interested in second-chance romances in a werewolf fantasy world.
