Cobbled together from an eclectic assortment of pilots and starfighters, the five members of Alphabet are tasked by New Republic General Hera Syndulla herself. Like Yrica, each is a talented pilot struggling to find their place in a changing galaxy. Their mission: to track down and destroy the mysterious Shadow Wing, a lethal force of TIE fighters exacting bloody, reckless vengeance in the twilight of their reign.
The newly formed unit embodies the heart and soul of the Rebellion: ragtag, resourceful, scrappy, and emboldened by their most audacious victory in decades. But going from underdog rebels to celebrated heroes isn't as easy as it seems, and their inner demons threaten them as much as their enemies among the stars. Part of a Marvel and Del Rey crossover event, Alphabet Squadron is the counterpart to Marvel’s TIE Fighter miniseries, which follows the exploits of Shadow Wing as they scheme to thwart the New Republic.

Nett, aber nicht gut.
Alphabet Squadron reiht sich nicht in die guten alten Serien ein wie X-Wing oder Ghost Squadron. Der Autor wechselt zu oft die Plots und die Figuren werden zu sehr von allen Seiten beleuchtet, so dass die Geschichte keine Fahrt aufnehmen kann.
Die Sprecherin Saskia Maarleveld hört sich leider die ganze Zeit an als würde es ständig geheimnisvoll zugehen. Für mich recht unangenehm auf Dauer.
Teil 2 wird sich nicht in meiner Bibliothek finden.

Medicore Story that falls off pretty fast
The story starts good but the whole thing falls off pretty fast in my opinion, having bought title 2 in the series as well before listening and being near the end i have to say that sadly title 2 does not manage to improve on that. There are a few ups and downs but that is it.
One of the points that many Star Wars stories suffer from is the constant power fluctuation of the antagonists, here it hits really hard, so hard that its even mentioned in the actual story near the end. For one moment Shadow Wing is a ferocious Tiger ready to rip everything apart, the next moment they are a Chihuahua having a panic attack from their own shadow.
The narrator is ok, but in title 2 they change the narrator and as far as i have seen they do it again for title 3, this may be only my opinion but that is a big break in immersion for me if you listen to all titles back to back and deliveres a huge blow to the overall listening experience.
