Takes 30 min to 1 hour to get into. But once you did that it IS totally worth it! Story had some interesting Twists and you learn more and more about the world.

I really like this book, it's not one OP battle after another. The best thing are the likeable characters!

The story is definitely entertaining. And I enjoyed the audiobooks without question. However, the story is too simplistic for me. Dragons and People are defined only by their cards. If you don't have at least rare cards, or are a rare dragon, you're a useless nobody, regardless of your talents and ambitions.
Luck over rare cards decides your ultimate and undisputed superiority over everyone else.
Of course, useless uncommon people are not even able to resist rare or legendary dragons and die just from their presence.
I don’t like the world system.

There is no need to be a CCG player in order to have fun listening to the story. Sit back an accompany the rogueish hero on his quest from doomed pauper to greatness.

Very entertaining

The premise of this series hooked me instantly and the story is just really short paced and intriguing. As a collector myself the magic system is simply interesting. Overall these two books were just amazing and i can't wait for the continuation of the story!
Also props to the narrator, he did an amazing job giving life to the characters!

Sehr guter 2. Teil mit der richtigen Entwicklung. Der MC wächst und die erdachte Story behält ihn endlich im Geschehen... Somit gibt es in diesem Teil mehr Aktion, was im vorherigen Teil fehlte.

Yes I think it is a good follow up to the last book. It expands worldbuilding in a solid way. Not mindbraking (you can introduce such a world and system only once) but a lot of stuff is going on.

The plot develops fast, maybe a little bit to fast. I really enjoyed the slow start and under the radar thing in the first audiobook. Now its all about the competition of the legendary egg. So Arthur climbs the social ladder pretty fast.

At some points the plot is quite obvius, but in total I really enjoyed the story of part 2. As I sayed, its a good second part and I got drawn in again (much like in the first one) so I had to finish with an unhealthy amount of sleep.

I really recomend to hear this audiobook if you liked the start of the series. The quality is good an the narrator is awesome. I am waiting for part 3.
